Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts fundamental data management and parameter oversight within the Material Control System.
  • Ensures the availability of components for ongoing production, including the management of parts introduction and removal, as well as the processing of technical and software modifications to minimize obsolescence costs.
  • Oversees internal supply chain operations affecting component availability across various departments such as Procurement, Engineering, Assembly, and other Logistics teams.
  • Maintains and evaluates monthly Supplier performance metrics and annual Supplier Management Information System (SUMIS) ratings.
  • Initiates corrective measures with Suppliers and escalates issues as directed by the Section Manager.
  • Facilitates the training of new team members.
  • Manages inventory and stock levels by accurately forecasting the required quantities of parts while optimizing on-hand stock.
  • Analyzes multiple data sources (GPS/TAIS/SAP) to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ensures effective communication to keep management updated on E/E matters, adhering to proper escalation protocols.
  • Guarantees timely execution of both internal and external delivery obligations.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a steady supply of parts for production.
  • Engages with Procurement, Engineering, Physical Logistics, Assembly, and Manufacturing technologies to facilitate the implementation of new software levels.
  • Secures the availability of materials for future needs at the appropriate software level.
  • Coordinates economical transportation with freight providers to ensure timely collection and delivery of materials.
  • Reviews inventory levels of parts on the production floor and in storage, making necessary computer adjustments to ensure accurate releases.
  • Collaborates with all departments and vendors during build-outs, design modifications, and software updates to provide precise data, preventing excess and shortages.
  • Generates Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports, supplier releases, and delivery schedules to confirm material availability.
  • Coordinates flash campaigns with Assembly, Engineering, Physical Logistics, and contractors, including line feed scenarios.
  • Identifies flash locations (internal and external).
  • Manages changes in transportation modes.
  • Oversees hardware modifications and updates within the E/E team.
  • Reports to management on current status, cost-saving initiatives, obsolescence issues, and other E/E matters.
  • Implements process enhancements and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Participates as a core member in E/E coordination meetings (weekly CCB, CoC, and SIT).
  • Facilitates implementation meetings for series and flash campaign discussions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Operations supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Material Planning, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, International Business, or equivalent professional experience in Material Planning.
  • Advanced Knowledge/Skills required (3 to 5 years' experience with no training needed):
    • Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office, SAP, and TAIS (preferred).
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in German or Spanish (preferred).
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
