Job Overview

OBJECTIVE:

The primary aim of this role is to effectively guarantee the accessibility of appropriate components in the correct quantities, at the required software levels, and in a timely manner to support production objectives and material supply targets.

This position entails overseeing material scheduling for the packing facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts fundamental data processing and parameter management within the Material Control System.
  • Ensures part availability for ongoing production, managing transitions and technical updates to minimize obsolescence costs.
  • Monitors internal supply chain activities affecting part availability across various departments including Procurement, Engineering, and Assembly.
  • Maintains and evaluates monthly Supplier ratings and annual Supplier Management Information System (SUMIS) data, initiating corrective measures as necessary.
  • Facilitates training for new employees.
  • Manages inventory levels by accurately planning the necessary quantities of parts while optimizing stock levels.
  • Analyzes multiple data sources to ensure the integrity of information.
  • Communicates effectively with management regarding E/E issues, adhering to established escalation protocols.
  • Ensures timely execution of both internal and external delivery obligations.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a steady supply of parts for production.
  • Guarantees material availability for future needs at the appropriate software levels.
  • Coordinates logistics with freight providers to ensure prompt collection and delivery of materials.
  • Reviews inventory levels on the production floor and in storage, making necessary adjustments to ensure accurate releases.
  • Works closely with all departments and suppliers during design modifications and software updates to provide precise data and prevent excess inventory or shortages.
  • Generates Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports and supplier delivery schedules to confirm material availability.
  • Facilitates flash campaigns in coordination with various departments.
  • Identifies and coordinates transportation adjustments.
  • Reports on current situations, cost savings, and other relevant issues to management.
  • Implements process enhancements and cost-saving measures.
  • Participates as a core member in coordination meetings.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in Material Planning.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Material Planning.
  • Preferred: Experience in the automotive industry and proficiency in the German language.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Typical work settings include an office, laboratory, or manufacturing environment, involving various physical activities.
  • Must adhere to all relevant safety protocols.
