Position OverviewWe are in search of a talented Android Developer to join our Mobile Team, responsible for creating exceptional Android applications that seamlessly integrate with our service platform. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Mobile and will play a pivotal role in application architecture, development, and the innovation of new features to enhance consumer mobile solutions.
This role requires a hands-on approach, where the ideal candidate will possess the ability to translate diverse and evolving requirements into actionable development plans. Experience in both dynamic startup environments and structured corporate settings is highly desirable. Additional responsibilities will include mentoring team members, promoting Agile methodologies, tracking project tasks, and addressing any arising issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of mobile applications for the Android platform.
- Engage in code reviews, wireframe design, and proof of concept development.
- Collaborate with the QA team to analyze and resolve production issues and defects.
- Work alongside the Release Engineering team to facilitate app deployment activities.
- Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including meetings, iterative development, estimations, and design sessions.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years as a technical lead with a strong grasp of Android UX and UI design principles.
- At least 5 years of extensive experience with Java, Android Studio, Gradle, and other integrated development environment (IDE) tools.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design patterns and principles.
- Experience in optimizing high-volume mobile applications.
- Proficient in integrating with RESTful API backends.
- Adept at thriving in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative environment.
- Strong technical writing skills and effective project estimation and planning abilities.
- Excellent communication skills across teams and roles.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
- Ability to manage full life cycle engagements.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% for conferences and meetings.
