Position Overview
The Senior Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and extensive experience with general ledger management, variance analysis, external audit preparation, banking functions, and month-end/year-end closing processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze financial data to prepare general ledger entries.
- Monitor and reconcile restricted and unrestricted contributions in collaboration with the fundraising department.
- Assist in accounting activities and reporting for non-profit entities served by the organization.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss reports, to summarize the organization's financial position.
- Support banking operations, including account setup, reconciliation, and management of banking fees.
- Collaborate with the accounting team on month-end duties and assist in the preparation of management reports and variance analyses.
- Participate in the completion of quarterly and annual compliance filings and financial statements.
- Aid in the annual external financial audit and ensure tax compliance.
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and internal policies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
- 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, particularly in non-profit settings.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in full-cycle accounting.
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite and accounting software; experience with MS Dynamics SL is advantageous.
- Knowledge of federal funds, grants, and reporting requirements for charities is beneficial.
