POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
The Solar Assistant Project Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Project Manager with the administrative and technical oversight of solar projects. This position involves supervising all aspects related to contract management, change orders, submittals, procurement, and scheduling.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review design documents and identify key subcontractors.
- Conduct site investigations and analyze labor markets.
- Identify long-lead items and develop bid packages.
- Create and manage project schedules and site utilization plans.
- Conduct pre-bid conferences.

- Oversee project financial responsibilities, including the development and maintenance of Project Financial Reports (PFR) and Labor Cost Reports (LCR).

- Establish Project Schedule of Values, approve miscellaneous job expenditures, and prepare monthly owner requisitions.
- Manage the change order process and administer the owner purchase program.
- Oversee project assets and enforce company bonding and insurance policies.

- Develop scopes of work, establish filing systems, and set up project management systems.
- Create purchasing schedules and obtain necessary insurance and bonds.
- Develop quality control programs.

- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and coordinate with corporate scheduling.
- Prepare and distribute detailed project schedules, including resource-loaded schedules and look-ahead schedules.

- Mentor and provide direction to staff, disseminate company policies, and promote employee morale.

- Administer document control processes, including RFI management, critical items lists, monthly reports, and correspondence preparation.

- Conduct trade pre-construction meetings and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
- Manage permit inspections and maintain subcontractor relationships.
- Oversee the Loss Control (Safety) Program and manage the shop drawing process.

- Regularly interact with owners to ensure compliance with client needs.

- Manage project closeout and post-construction services, including obtaining certificates of occupancy and other governmental approvals.
- Submit 'As-Built' drawings, operation manuals, and complete punch lists.
- Coordinate owner move-in and start-up processes, and deliver warranties.

- Participate in company-sponsored events and industry-related organizations, as well as training and continuing education programs.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager in the solar construction sector with a general contractor.
- Proficiency in construction project management applications is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective interaction with owners' representatives, A/E teams, building departments, and other team members.
- Experience with ERP systems and familiarity with CMIC is advantageous.
- Intermediate finance skills are required.
