About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Government Affairs and Public Policy team at Google. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping our company's public policy agenda and advocating for our interests with government officials and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help create a positive regulatory environment to allow growth, protect products, and promote a free and open internet.
  • Craft and monitor Google's positions on current and forthcoming policy issues of importance to Google.
  • Build relationships with elected officials, third parties, and other leaders.
  • Establish and implement strategies to communicate policy positions to key state and local government constituencies.
  • Develop public affairs strategies to build relationships and strengthen our local community engagement.
  • Work with cross-functional internal teams on local programming in the region.
  • Advocate before the relevant elected officials and public entities on behalf of Google and the interests of a free and open Internet.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience working on policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, law, relevant industry associations, public affairs, political communications, or political campaigns.
  • Experience in government relations, political campaigns, outreach, or research in the Rocky Mountain states region (e.g., Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada).
  • Experience working with or in state/local government, or leading policy or public affairs work for third-party organizations.
  • Familiarity with Internet/technology policy with demonstrated interest in keeping the Internet open and free.
  • Ability to integrate public policy with business strategy and corporate development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
