Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to engage in the development of advanced digital power management solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion and capability to thrive in a technically demanding environment alongside other high achievers, continuing Renesas' legacy of excellence in power management ICs.

This role presents a unique opportunity to significantly impact the technical and commercial achievements of the organization. Success in this position requires a profound technical grasp of power management, Renesas products, and customer systems. You will play a pivotal role in product definition and strategic business planning. Your ability to collaborate across various functional teams through effective communication and direct engagement is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate technical marketing initiatives through global customer engagements to promote products and identify critical customer requirements. Utilize insights gained to inform marketing strategies by delivering analyses that showcase the technical advantages of Renesas solutions over competitors.
  • Generate comprehensive Product Requirements Documents to support the formulation of design specifications. Collaborate with design engineering to resolve conflicts between requirements, capabilities, and business expectations.
  • Engage in FPGA-based design prototyping to validate key features and functionalities, collaborating with design teams to address any unmet targets.
  • Guide team members in developing Applications Validation Plans, leveraging experience to ensure comprehensive coverage of corner cases.
  • Innovate valuable intellectual property by devising unique solutions to pressing customer challenges. Assist marketing in assessing the monetary value of developed IP.
  • Collaborate with key ASIC suppliers to comprehend requirements and ensure alignment in product development.
  • Deliver in-depth technical support and training to bolster Renesas' commercial success, translating complex concepts into accessible language for less experienced audiences, including customers and field sales personnel.

To excel in this role, you must translate market insights into product definitions that drive market acceptance. Understanding subtle customer demands and motivating team members accordingly is crucial. Strong communication skills and technical expertise will enable you to influence across various functional areas effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the power management sector.
  • Expertise in SIMPLIS or similar circuit simulation tools within a switching regulator context.
  • Comprehensive understanding of control loop theory and its application in power converters.
  • Experience with FEA tools for thermal, electrical, and magnetic analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C and Python.
  • Familiarity with PCB CAD tools for schematic design and layout.
  • Extensive experience with laboratory equipment, including network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and waveform generators, along with lab testing automation.
  • Strong data analysis skills using tools like Excel or JMP.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with some international travel required.
