Job Description:
As a Senior Optical Engineer, you will play a vital role in our Optical Engineering talent community. Although we are not currently hiring for this position, we are eager to understand your expertise and experience.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Designing and developing optical subsystems for inspection tools.
  • Creating optical system designs and alignment methodologies.
  • Leading the design of custom metrology systems to ensure optimal optical performance.
  • Collaborating with systems engineering to define performance criteria and specifications.
  • Engaging with hardware and software teams throughout the product design process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate design options to identify the most effective solutions based on tolerances and manufacturability.
  • Deliver comprehensive optical system designs, considering alignment processes and opto-mechanical limitations.
  • Translate system requirements into precise optical design specifications.
  • Design and implement optical alignment processes and test fixtures.
  • Oversee the complete design process, including verification and product release.
  • Diagnose and resolve optical issues as they arise.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in high-precision optical system design, particularly in semiconductor applications.
  • Proficiency in optical design software such as CodeV, Zemax, or LightTools.
  • Ability to conduct statistical tolerancing and create specifications for opto-mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong knowledge of optical metrology tools and techniques.
  • Experience in building and aligning complex optical systems.

Experience:
A minimum of five years in high-precision optical system development is preferred, with a strong emphasis on creative problem-solving and effective communication skills.

Education:
A Master's or Doctorate in Optical Engineering or Physics is required, with a strong foundation in relevant disciplines such as Geometrical Optics, Fourier Optics, and Optical Metrology.
