We are currently seeking a dynamic and innovative professional to fill the role of Sales Manager for School & Library. This position is integral to our operations, focusing on accounts that cater to the school and library sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee sales and marketing initiatives for the School and Library sector, representing both core and client publishers.
- Promote and sell the complete range of titles from our core and client publishers.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with accounts to enhance collaborative efforts and drive revenue growth.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to create and implement targeted marketing strategies for the school and library audience, managing the co-op marketing budget effectively.
- Assist in forecasting title budgets by providing insights specific to the school and library channel.
- Conduct weekly performance analyses of accounts to identify growth opportunities.
- Work closely with publishers to develop tailored product offerings for specific accounts.
- Provide valuable feedback to sales and publishing teams regarding market trends and account initiatives.
- Partner with Marketing and Publicity teams to ensure a strong presence at key industry trade shows, engaging with accounts and supporting booth operations and author events.
- Identify and recommend process improvements between Sales and related departments to enhance channel sales growth.
- Support the Senior Director of Sales with various projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the publishing industry, particularly in sales or marketing roles.
- Preferred experience within the school and library sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of the account landscape and the overall sales process, with insights into consumer and industry trends.
- Strong analytical skills, with a background in title sales and inventory forecasting being advantageous.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and tackle challenges effectively.
- Self-motivated with a strong focus on developing and executing revenue-generating strategies.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, including presentation skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively in team environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to learn new software and proprietary systems.
- Willingness to travel for trade shows, account meetings, and select author events.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
