Position Overview

As an Intelligence Research Analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency, you will engage in extensive online research and analysis on pertinent subjects, utilizing sophisticated tools, datasets, and methodologies to enhance covert operations and generate actionable intelligence leads.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will concentrate on the analysis and utilization of publicly accessible information to facilitate successful human, technical, or integrated operations that further intelligence objectives and yield operational leads. Intelligence Research Analysts are analytical, pragmatic, and mission-focused. You will often act as a specialist in specific technical or topical areas, geographic regions, and/or foreign languages, collaborating with other experts to address complex challenges, gather critical information, and produce foreign intelligence to counter threats and support the agency's mission priorities.

Your work will involve initiating innovative operations across various priorities by applying specialized techniques, tools, and data. Intelligence Research Analysts strive to create cutting-edge digital solutions to tackle intricate challenges related to elusive targets and effectively communicate these solutions and findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Opportunities may arise for both domestic and international travel, specialized training, and assignments in different CIA divisions.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum educational qualifications and/or at least 5 years of professional experience in the following fields:
    • Targeting Analysis
    • Cryptologic Language Analysis
    • International Relations
    • Political Science
    • Library Science
    • National Security Studies
    • STEM Fields
    • Terrorism Studies
  • Proven proficiency in a foreign language
  • Exceptional critical thinking and advanced research capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Inquisitive and investigative mindset
  • Results-oriented and action-driven
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical partners
  • Competence in navigating traditional media, the Internet, and social media platforms
  • Ability to meet the minimum criteria for joining the CIA, including U.S. citizenship and a background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience within the Intelligence Community
  • Familiarity with programming and algorithmic methodologies
  • Socio-political expertise in specific geographical areas
  • Background in counter-proliferation, counter-terrorism, or counter-narcotics
  • Digital and Cyber Acumen
  • Experience employing methodologies to identify trends, patterns, relationships, and anomalies within large datasets
Educational Background
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, ideally in one of the following areas:
    • International Relations
    • Political Science
    • National Security Studies
    • Library Science
    • STEM Fields
    • Journalism
    • Terrorism Studies
  • Preferred GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale
