Job Description

GCI is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our Technology Solutions group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define, design, and implement network and/or system facilities utilizing standard engineering concepts of availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, and security.
  • Audit, forecast, and manage capacity, bandwidth forecasting, hardware, software licensing, and hosted devices.
  • Coordinate with project management and engineering teams on a regular basis.
  • Support and manage escalations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Maximize performance using network monitoring tools, troubleshooting network and/or system outages, scheduling updates, and collaborating with architects on optimization.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in progressive engineering in information technology, development, and engineering, moderate to complex project management within telecommunications or related background.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience within the telecommunications industry.
  • Other telecom industry or job specific certifications.
