Job Description

GCI's Network Engineer I plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing network infrastructure to meet the company's needs. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement network infrastructure to ensure maximum performance and availability
  • Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to identify and develop solutions to improve network efficiency
  • Provide technical leadership and escalation support for various delivery and engineering groups
  • Develop and maintain documentation and support materials to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in the field or related background
  • Experience within the telecommunications industry is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in network engineering, such as CNNA, JNCIA, or CCNP
  • Knowledge of protocols and standards, including MPLS, QoS, and TCP/IP
  • Experience with network management tools, such as Wireshark and Reverbed
Work Environment

This position requires a strong understanding of network engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
