We are currently seeking a Project Finance Portfolio Management Associate to enhance our talented workforce in the Washington, DC area. This role involves delivering both onsite and remote leadership for federal programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze contemporary and future issues impacting our work, assessing their implications and alternatives while monitoring the portfolio and individual projects for signs of credit risk.
  • Implement a risk management framework that identifies, manages, and mitigates risks within the portfolio, ensuring timely responses to requests from borrowers, sponsors, and lenders.
  • Establish workflows and schedules for Asset Monitoring and Supervision to achieve project objectives aligned with office missions, including developing tailored Credit Monitoring Plans.
  • Stay informed on sector developments relevant to borrowers, including price fluctuations, regulatory changes, and structural shifts.
  • Communicate analyses through various formats, including formal reports and presentations.
  • Represent the office at interagency meetings and discussions, serving as an expert on portfolio management policies and collaborating with industry sources to support office initiatives.
  • Conduct detailed analyses for structuring and maintaining Credit Monitoring Plans.
  • Review financial statements, progress reports, compliance certificates, and information from news sources and site visits.
  • Manage post-closure requests from borrowers and lenders regarding amendments to loan terms and other modifications.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to prepare comprehensive position papers and briefing materials for senior management.
  • Examine project and legal documents, negotiating terms with borrowers or creditors in case of defaults.
  • Prepare transfer memos for the Special Assets Group when liquidation is necessary to protect taxpayer interests.
  • Lead project teams to evaluate the technical, legal, and financial aspects of transactions, ensuring compliance with organizational procedures and goals.
  • Generate regular credit reports for specific projects in accordance with guidelines set by management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry for assigned projects in the organization's systems.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a client-issued Public Trust.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to explain financial models to diverse audiences.
  • Expertise in analytical methods and evaluation techniques across project and corporate risk assessment, accounting, and corporate finance.
  • Ability to monitor compliance and reporting in line with Credit Agreement terms and overall portfolio risk management.
  • Familiarity with financial, market, credit, and technical risks associated with various energy technologies.
  • Knowledge of diverse corporate finance structures to make informed financial decisions.
  • Understanding of policies and practices for managing individual loan transactions and sector risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in business writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Education: A Bachelor's Degree or MBA is preferred.
