Behavioral Health Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Nurse to join our team at Marion County Health and Human Services. As a Behavioral Health Nurse, you will provide nursing services in behavioral health programs, including assessment and care of clients as part of the treatment plan, evaluating medication effectiveness, and other health care needs.
Responsibilities
• Provides nursing services in behavioral health programs, including assessment and care of clients as part of the treatment plan.
• Evaluates medication effectiveness and other health care needs.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provides emotional support, compassion, and de-escalation to patients/guardians/relatives.
• Performs telephonic triage and responds appropriately to callers who may present with emergencies, varying levels of risk of harm to self/others, varying levels of distress, diverse presenting problems.
• Administers brief mental status exams.
• Provides medication training and support to patients, families, and/or significant others.
• Links patients to the direct delivery of services to assist and support a patient to gain access to needed medical, social, educational, or other services.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.
• One year of behavioral health nursing experience or other related experience.
• Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
• Must possess a current Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) Qualified Mental Health Associate certification (QMHA) or register within ninety (90) days of hire, and complete in accordance with MHACBO guidelines.
