Job Title: Behavioral Health Specialist 2, Qualified Mental Health Professional



About the Role:



This position plays a crucial role in providing mental health services to adults in custody at the Oregon State Correctional Institution in Salem, Oregon.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Identify and assess mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults in custody
  • Conduct regular contact with individuals to evaluate their mental status
  • Develop treatment interventions and behavior plans
  • Provide crisis services and suicide assessments
  • Coordinate release planning and records management
  • Participate in consultation and training
  • Facilitate group sessions


Working Conditions:




  • This position involves working inside an adult prison
  • There may be exposure to adults in custody who may become physically or verbally abusive
  • Vigilance and awareness are essential

Additional incentives include a 4.75% differential for licensed QMHPs, 5% for bilingual QMHPs, and 5% for leader worker QMHPs.



Qualifications:




  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing or occupational therapy, licensed by the State of Oregon, and three years of experience related to the series concept, or
  • A Master's degree in psychology, social work, recreational, art, or music therapy, or behavioral health science, and two years of experience related to the series concept
