About the Role:

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will provide leadership and oversight within the accounting shared services group, focusing on accounts payable processing. This role will drive process improvement and achieve maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor accounts payable staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls and processes, ensuring compliance with SEC guidelines and Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.
  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of processing invoices from vendors, ensuring payments are made in accordance with contractual terms and company policies.
  • Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures related to areas of responsibility.
  • Manage the completion of payment runs, ensuring they are done efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside service providers involved in payables and cash disbursements processes.
  • Assume ownership and oversight of vendor master data files as necessary.
  • Lead the implementation of system changes and related enhancements impacting Accounts Payable.
  • Support annual 1099 reporting and develop and track efficiency and accuracy using Accounts Payable metrics.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and process improvement efforts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees and vendors.
