Position Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for delivering primary care medical services to patients in alignment with their training, experience, and licensure. This role involves active participation as a member of the medical team within the Center and serves as an educational resource for patients, the Center, students, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in direct patient care, which may encompass obstetrics, family planning, newborn care, pediatrics, and general adult care.

• Achieve minimum patient care productivity standards as established by the Center to fulfill external funding and reimbursement requirements.

• Deliver continuous, comprehensive, and culturally competent healthcare of the highest standard.

• Manage cases for Center patients.

• Ensure thorough documentation in patient medical records, including education, medications, referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care.

• Participate in organizing and conducting special clinics, such as those for migrant camps.

• Oversee support staff in relation to individual patient management.

• Engage in case management discussions and reviews, including those for obstetric patients and individuals with diabetes.

• Assist in implementing strategies to meet the objectives of the annual Health Plan and other goals set by the QA/QI committee and the Center's managed care initiatives.

• Participate in chart audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the QA/QI program.

• Attend medical staff, OB, QA/QI meetings, and other committees aimed at enhancing patient care and the overall functioning of the Center.

• Supervise students and residents in healthcare professions and engage with community groups to foster the Center's integration into the community.

• Support the Medical or Executive Director in fulfilling the Center's objectives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Handle protected health information (PHI) in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

HIPAA Compliance:
The licensed independent healthcare provider will access PHI while performing their duties, utilizing it for treatment and quality assurance purposes. Following the minimum necessary standard of HIPAA, the designated records sets accessible to this employee include demographic and scheduling information in the practice management system, as well as the complete medical record.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred; willingness to achieve sufficient competency in Spanish to provide medical care is essential.

• Strong commitment to serving patients and collaborating with staff from diverse ethnic, economic, cultural, and social backgrounds.

Education and Experience:

• Completion of an accredited family nurse practitioner or physician assistant training program recognized by the State of Oregon.

• Licensure by the State of Oregon through the Board of Nursing or the Board of Medical Examiners, along with DEA registration.
