Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Process Technician who will be responsible for the setup, monitoring, operation, and troubleshooting of plastic injection-molding machinery. This role involves ensuring the quality of parts prepared for shipment, determining processing parameters for various tools, and effectively addressing any arising issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all molds, auxiliary equipment, materials, and injection molding machines are configured according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Visual Operating Procedures (VOP) to meet quality benchmarks and production objectives.
  • Initiate and oversee the startup of molding machines, verifying that products meet established quality standards.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot processing challenges, conduct preventative maintenance, and document any process modifications.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a positive attitude, demonstrating dedication, respect, and teamwork.
  • Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and hand tools while managing production materials efficiently.
  • Handle machine operations and package finished goods as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Processing Technician or in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with mold changes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and injection molding equipment is essential.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot using root cause analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various functions.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrating strong teamwork capabilities.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in plastics processing is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
  • This role may involve various physical activities, including walking, standing, bending, stretching, and using hands and fingers to grasp, push, and lift items.
