Job Title: Patient Care Representative

Shields Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Care Representative to join our team. As a Patient Care Representative, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and collect necessary information, including copays and insurance details.
  • Assist patients with the check-in process, troubleshoot any issues, and provide feedback.
  • Recognize and utilize language services when needed to ensure effective communication.
  • Distribute films and CDs as required, maintaining HIPAA and patient privacy policies.
  • Collaborate with technologists and radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.
  • Process outgoing and incoming mail and UPS deliveries.
  • Prepare for the next day's appointment schedule and communicate any potential issues.
  • Provide and respect confidentiality of all customer groups.
  • Verify and enter necessary information into our systems.
  • Respond to scheduling emergency patient situations.
  • Support Customer Care with machine utilization and fill templates.
  • Answer patient and doctor concerns with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Keep management informed of situations and conditions that may impact the company or department.
  • Remain current on any changes in policies or procedures that modify daily work functions.
  • Maintain copay and petty cash accuracy and make daily bank deposits.
  • Assist with on-boarding and training of new employees.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Medical office or healthcare administration courses preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency required.
  • Attention to detail and typing accuracy required.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and insurance requirements is preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to multitask and exceed customer expectations.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods of time while performing data entry and information intake via phone. Can be met with or without reasonable accommodation.

Internal/External Interactions:

This position requires extensive interaction with all customer groups. Candidate must be personable, upbeat, fast-paced, and organized.
