POSITION SUMMARY

The Patient Access Representative plays a critical role in the healthcare experience, serving as the initial point of contact for patients and their families. This position is vital in enhancing patient care through effective communication and service.

TYPE: Full-Time: Experienced

SALARY: Competitive and commensurate with experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Patient Intake and Appointment Management (85%):

  • Welcome patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Accurately register patients in the practice management system, ensuring all demographic and insurance details are complete and correct.
  • Maintain high standards of communication with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Verify patient identifiers to comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Schedule appointments following the health center's established protocols.
  • Handle daily cash collections securely, ensuring accurate documentation and providing receipts to patients.
  • Stay informed about various insurance plans to facilitate effective billing and payment processes.
  • Conduct insurance verifications as directed by management.

2. Accountability and Operational Support (10%):

  • Balance cash collections and report to the Accounting Manager daily.
  • Provide coverage for front desk operations as needed.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow through reception and registration.

3. Additional Duties (5%):

  • Perform other clerical tasks as assigned by management.
  • Assist with various responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare insurance processes is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer systems, particularly the EPIC System.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, with proficiency in English required.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is preferred.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adaptability are essential.
