As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, documenting, and executing the processes and protocols necessary for assembling our products.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned projects.
  • Develop and monitor capital investment budgets for projects.
  • Manage and communicate the timeline for capital equipment and address any open issues with the program team.
  • Interface with vendors for machining, automation, and capital equipment.
  • Lead the development of all RFQs and Equipment Specifications for capital and tooling needs.
  • Ensure production process development and final approvals, including work cell layout and ergonomic workstation design.
  • Document Prototype and Production Processes through SOP +90 days, including Process Flow and Work Instructions.
  • Program torque control systems and select error-proofing devices.
  • Coordinate the initial plant floor layout and material flow.
  • Manage procurement and installation of line-side material handling devices.
  • Facilitate training for new equipment or process changes.
  • Review assembly drawings and CAD models for manufacturability.
  • Prepare for site readiness during project launches.
  • Analyze cost and timing impacts of engineering changes on assembly processes.
  • Collaborate with Program Management to gather baseline program information.
  • Support Engineering Cost Estimator with assembly process assumptions.
  • Assist Purchasing in evaluating new suppliers and technologies.
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise for assembly systems and production tooling.
  • Engage in all engineering-related communications with internal teams and customers.
  • Promote lean concepts and implement process improvements.
  • Benchmark processes and equipment against industry standards.
  • Resolve issues across all sites as necessary.

Candidate Profile


The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of assembly requirements for various automotive component systems, including Body, Trim, Chassis, Power-train, Interior, and Tire and Wheel.

Key qualifications include:

  • Experience with Manual and Automated Assembly Systems.
  • Knowledge of JIT, SPD, ILVS, and Batch manufacturing systems.
  • Familiarity with Industrial Safety Standards.
  • Ability to analyze labor efficiencies and capital investments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Corporate employees may be required to travel to support new launches or engineering changes as needed.
