Job Summary

The Business Architecture Domain Head will lead the development and implementation of business architecture strategies to drive business growth and transformation at National Life Group. This role will be responsible for defining and executing business architecture initiatives that align with the company's overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to define business goals and translate those into actionable initiatives. Partner with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of vision and expected business outcomes.
  • Target Operating Model Design: Facilitate workshops with key stakeholders to design the target operating model that will deliver on the service strategy.
  • Business Process Optimization: Analyze and design business processes to enhance customer experience, improve efficiency, and mitigate risk through process optimization and automation opportunities.
  • Requirements Analysis: Oversee business stakeholders and analysts to define and document functional and non-functional requirements for business solutions.
  • Technology Alignment: Collaborate with IT and supplier partners to ensure business processes align to enterprise architecture and technical solutions align to business objectives.
  • Vendor and Partner Management: Cultivate relationships with external vendors and internal partners to develop and implement digital solutions.
  • Project Oversight: Plan, execute, and monitor transformation projects. Proactively identify and mitigate risk.
  • Change Management: Support change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of digital solutions.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators to measure success of business initiatives, regularly report progress and adjust as needed.
  • Business Sustainability: Provide stewardship of business processes and technical solutions.
  • Leader of Leaders: Build and lead a high-performing team of professionals providing coaching and development opportunities.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related fields. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience driving the delivery of medium to large-scale transformations in the financial services industry and preferably in Life & Annuity Operations.
  • Enterprise view of the business with an understanding of strategy, operating models, business processes, business capabilities, and enabling technology.
  • Thought leader comfortable challenging the status quo while turning strategy into reality.
  • Deep analytical skills with the ability to assimilate disconnected documentation and visualizations and articulate their relevance to problem-solving.
  • Lead through influence across all levels of the organization in ambiguous, complex, and evolving situations.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, supplier partners, and internal partners.
  • Manage employee performance and develop team members.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Recognize and mitigate dependencies and risks.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies is preferred.
