Position Overview:

The Client Relationship Manager is accountable for ensuring the effective management of client relationships, with support and insights from senior team members.

This role involves expanding the existing portfolio, gaining a comprehensive understanding of clients' operations, achieving a retention rate of at least 95%, and ensuring client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

Client Service Excellence & Expertise
Efficiently oversee the client service process, track timelines, and adhere to renewal schedules. With guidance from the CE/Producer, engage in stewardship planning and contribute to annual meetings by drafting sections of reports and conducting necessary research.

Retain and grow accounts by:
- Advising clients on risk management strategies for optimal insurance coverage
- Crafting proposals and providing comparative quotes
- Evaluating and suggesting additional lines of coverage
- Offering supplementary resources as required
- Reviewing contracts and new acquisitions
- Marketing renewals and new insurance lines, including:
- Developing coverage specifications
- Assisting in the creation of tailored coverage wording to meet client needs
- Analyzing quotes from carriers.

Engage in negotiations with carriers, create and present coverage analyses, and review policy coverage to identify cross-selling and revenue enhancement opportunities. Develop a thorough understanding of client businesses, their policies, practices, and sectors. Guide clients through the initial objective-setting process, analyze data to derive conclusions, and provide sound recommendations based on client needs.

Maintain a functional understanding of agency management systems and related software, ensuring high-quality output while staying updated with technical and professional standards. Communicate legislative, regulatory, and technical developments to clients effectively. Deliver services in accordance with professional service standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.

Continuously engage in educational activities to enhance product knowledge and underwriting expertise, demonstrating a consultative approach in all interactions.

People Management and Relationship Skills:

While this role does not involve direct management of staff, the Client Relationship Manager must:
- Delegate tasks appropriately and foster development opportunities for colleagues
- Exhibit professionalism, social skills, and teamwork
- Collaborate effectively within a team and maintain a positive demeanor
- Manage expectations of both colleagues and clients
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.

Proactively share relevant industry information with clients and associates to build and sustain loyalty. Interact confidently with diverse individuals, listen attentively, and adapt to various work styles. Provide on-the-job training to colleagues.

Productivity:

Manage a portfolio of business, participate in networking activities, and oversee projects to meet deadlines and expectations. Keep tasks organized and current, and maintain awareness of the firm's service capabilities to generate innovative ideas and solutions for clients.


Additional Responsibilities:

Engage in special projects as requested by management and undertake additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

A college degree or equivalent experience is required, along with three to five years of experience managing large accounts. Strong interpersonal skills in communication, planning, and analysis are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary, as well as the ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations accurately.

Above-average to excellent grammatical skills in both speaking and writing are required to effectively communicate with clients and insurance providers.


Other Qualifications:

Possession of advanced insurance designations, such as CIC, CPCU, CEBS, CLU, or other relevant credentials is desirable. Appropriate jurisdictional licenses are required.

Maintain necessary licenses in Life and Health, Property and Casualty to enhance cross-selling opportunities. Recognized as a knowledgeable resource in the field, we value the ability to identify and nurture talent within our organization.
