Position Overview:

The Client Relationship Manager is accountable for delivering exceptional management of client partnerships, with support and insights from senior team members.

This role encompasses the expansion of the existing portfolio, a comprehensive understanding of clients' operations, maintaining a retention rate of at least 95%, and ensuring client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

Client Service Excellence: Effectively oversee the client service lifecycle, ensuring timely responses and adherence to renewal timelines. Collaborate with the CE/Producer to:

  • Engage in stewardship planning and annual meetings by drafting sections of reports and conducting necessary research.
  • Enhance and retain accounts by offering informed recommendations on risk management and insurance coverage.
  • Prepare and present proposals, including quote comparisons and evaluations of additional lines of coverage.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of contracts and new acquisitions.
  • Market renewals and new insurance lines, including the creation of coverage specifications and manuscript wording tailored to client needs.
  • Analyze quotes from carriers and negotiate terms effectively.
  • Review policy coverage to identify cross-selling opportunities and additional revenue streams.

Client Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of client businesses, their policies, and industry practices. Guide clients through the objective-setting process and analyze data to provide insightful recommendations.

Technical Proficiency: Maintain a functional understanding of agency management systems and related software. Stay informed about technical and professional standards to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

People Skills: Although this role does not involve direct management of staff, the Client Relationship Manager must:

  • Delegate tasks effectively and foster development opportunities for colleagues.
  • Exhibit professionalism and teamwork, maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Proactively share relevant industry information with clients and team members to cultivate loyalty and trust.

Project Management: Participate in networking activities and manage projects to meet deadlines while keeping tasks organized and current.


Additional Responsibilities:

Engage in special projects as requested by management and perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

A college degree or equivalent experience is required, along with three to five years of experience managing large accounts. Strong interpersonal skills in communication, planning, and analysis are essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary, along with the ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations accurately.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required to interact effectively with clients and insurance companies.


Licenses and Certifications:

Advanced insurance designations such as CIC, CPCU, CEBS, or CLU are preferred. Appropriate jurisdictional licenses for Life and Health, Property and Casualty are desired for cross-selling opportunities.
