Job Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uphold and promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Colonial Downs Group LLC.

  • Assist in the secure transfer of cash and gaming chips from the gaming area.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the casino and hotel to maintain a secure environment.
  • Enforce casino policies, regulations, and compliance standards set forth by the gaming authority.
  • Remain stationed at designated posts for extended periods as directed by management.
  • Report daily activities and responsibilities to the supervising manager.
  • Manage and de-escalate potential conflicts, providing assistance during emergencies.
  • Control access to restricted areas and gaming facilities.
  • Respond promptly to backup calls as necessary.
  • Operate a company vehicle as required, maintaining a clean driving record.
  • Compile reports on significant incidents and activities.
  • Maintain constant communication with the control center throughout the shift.
  • Participate in regular meetings and training sessions, ensuring compliance with identification checks for gaming access and greeting guests and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Manage crowd dynamics, fostering a welcoming atmosphere and addressing inappropriate behavior effectively.
  • Conduct cash escorts as needed.
  • Investigate incidents thoroughly and prepare detailed written reports, while monitoring and reporting any procedural violations or illegal activities.
  • Act in the capacity of Security Lead when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE DUTIES:

In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, each team member is expected to adhere to the following compliance obligations:

  • Attend mandatory training sessions provided by the organization.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary licenses.
  • Execute duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure minors are prohibited from gambling, consuming alcohol, or accessing restricted areas.
  • Possess knowledge of relevant ordinances, regulations, and policies applicable to the department.
  • Be aware of the organization’s initiatives addressing problem gaming.
  • Report any observed misconduct or violations.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One year of experience in law enforcement, military, security, or customer service, or actively pursuing a degree in a related field.
  • Successful completion of an internal training program is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and understand information in both spoken and written English.
  • Capable of prioritizing and executing work directives efficiently.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations, employing rational decision-making skills.
  • A valid driver's license may be necessary, along with a satisfactory driving history.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to specified weight limits.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Virginia Racing Commission License and a valid Driver's License with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
