Schneider Electric is seeking a Systems Application Engineer II

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze bid specifications and create exception documentation as necessary.
  • Determine the optimal combination of products and installation techniques to deliver cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare essential installation submittals and coordinate the transition to operations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for both the team and clients when required.
  • Engage in sales to operations transition meetings to assess the precision of sales estimates and project layouts.
  • Conduct initial site assessments with contractors and building management.
  • Independently design building automation systems for both standard and critical environments.
  • Develop unique design solutions tailored to specific client needs when necessary.
  • Create comprehensive designs for building automation systems in large or complex facilities, including mechanical layouts, electrical schematics, bill of materials, operational sequences, and DDC panel configurations to align with project specifications.
  • Design BAS network architecture to accommodate operator workstations, DDC field panels, field controllers, and third-party integration devices.
  • Review plans, construction specifications, and codes to identify project requirements and potential risks.
  • Provide start-up and validation documentation to the installation team for commissioning purposes.
  • Generate engineering re-estimates and collaborate with sales and management to ensure clarity and satisfaction regarding job scope.
  • Draft specifications and schematics for specialized components and panels sourced from external suppliers.
  • Select appropriate types and sizes of control products to fulfill project requirements.
  • Prepare all requests for information (RFIs) related to pre-installation extras or change orders for submission to clients or contractors.
  • Maintain and update hardware and engineering standards consistently.
Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred, along with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and any relevant technical training.
  • Understanding of electrical circuitry, construction environments, and adherence to safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, mechanical, and control drawings.
  • Proficient in MS Office, File Structure, and VISIO.
  • Familiarity with basic BACNET/LON/MODBUS protocols.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
