Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze bid specifications and create exception documentation.
  • Select the optimal combination of products and installation techniques to deliver the most economical solution.
  • Prepare necessary installation submittals and coordinate the transition to operations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for both the team and clients as required.
  • Engage in sales to operations turnover meetings to assess the precision of sales estimates and project layouts.
  • Conduct initial site walkthroughs with contractors and facility management.
  • Independently design building automation systems for both standard and critical environments.
  • Develop unique design solutions tailored to specific client needs when necessary.
  • Create designs for building automation systems in large or complex structures, including mechanical layouts, electrical schematics, bills of materials, operational sequences, and control panel layouts, ensuring alignment with project specifications and contract documents.
  • Design BAS network architecture to facilitate operator workstations, DDC field panels, field controllers, and third-party integration devices.
  • Review plans, construction specifications, and codes to identify project requirements and potential risks.
  • Provide start-up and checkout documentation to the installation team for commissioning and validation purposes.
  • Prepare engineering re-estimates and liaise with sales and management to ensure clarity and satisfaction regarding job scope.
  • Draft specifications and drawings for specialized components and panels sourced from external suppliers.
  • Choose appropriate types and sizes of control products to fulfill project specifications.
  • Generate requests for information (RFIs) concerning pre-installation extras or change orders for submission to clients or general/subcontractors.
  • Maintain and update hardware and engineering standards consistently.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred, along with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and any relevant technical training.
  • Understanding of electrical circuitry, construction environments, and adherence to safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, mechanical, and control drawings.
  • Proficient in MS Office, File Structure, and VISIO.
  • Familiarity with basic BACNET/LON/MODBUS protocols.
  • Highly organized with the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
