Position Overview:

The Environmental Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the store maintains a pristine and welcoming atmosphere. This includes upholding cleanliness standards and delivering on our Brand Promises.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service, assisting shoppers in locating products and enhancing their shopping experience.
  • Manage waste disposal by following approved protocols.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting and mopping floors in accordance with established procedures.
  • Reorganize and return equipment and merchandise to their designated locations after cleaning.
  • Utilize assigned cleaning materials and equipment effectively, including preparing cleaning solutions as needed.
  • Conduct deep cleaning of high-traffic areas such as restrooms, breakrooms, and entryways to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for both customers and staff.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment in an orderly fashion and communicate supply needs to supervisors proactively.
  • Identify areas that require cleaning and take initiative to address them promptly.
  • Complete all tasks as directed by supervisors, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Foster positive interactions with team members and customers, even in challenging situations, reflecting the organization's values.
  • Serve as a role model for fellow team members by projecting a positive image.
Additional Duties:
  • Facilitate a swift and friendly checkout experience, ensuring adherence to cash handling standards.
  • Engage customers regarding the benefits of our Rewards program and assist with enrollments.
  • Support Omni-channel operations, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
  • Participate in the unloading of merchandise, stocking, and planogram processes.
  • Contribute to shrink and safety initiatives.
Compliance and Standards:

Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in retail or cleaning services is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate throughout the store.
  • Regularly engage in bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using ladders or similar equipment.

This position involves working in a public retail environment, which is primarily climate-controlled, although some areas may not be. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and early mornings.
