Position Summary

The Marketing Specialist will be instrumental in assisting the Marketing Operations Manager by managing various administrative functions and coordinating marketing initiatives. This role serves as an excellent entry point for individuals beginning their journey in marketing. It is tailored for a highly organized, detail-oriented person with a strong enthusiasm for marketing and a keen desire to learn and develop professionally. The Marketing Specialist will support the execution of marketing strategies, oversee daily tasks, and ensure the marketing team operates smoothly and effectively. This position offers a robust foundation and invaluable experience, presenting opportunities for career advancement within UHSM.

Work Environment: This is a full-time, in-office role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Assistance: Provide essential administrative support to the Marketing Operations Manager, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing marketing resources.
  • Content Oversight: Aid in the coordination and publication of content for blogs, social media, and newsletters, ensuring consistency with UHSM's branding and strategic goals.
  • Project Management: Assist in overseeing and tracking marketing projects, ensuring timely completion and optimal resource utilization.
  • Vendor Coordination: Facilitate communication with external marketing agencies, brand ambassadors, and other collaborators, ensuring they receive the necessary support and materials.
  • Event Planning: Support the organization and execution of events, including promotional activities, logistical arrangements, and collaboration with internal teams.
  • Data Management: Help in tracking and analyzing marketing data, preparing reports for the Marketing Operations Manager to guide decision-making and strategy refinement.
  • Social Media Management: Assist in managing social media platforms by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and maintaining brand consistency.
  • Customer Interaction: Support the management of customer feedback and comments on social media and other platforms, collaborating closely with the Customer Service team for timely responses.
  • Marketing Resource Management: Organize and maintain a library of marketing materials, ensuring all assets are current and accessible to the team.
  • Internal Communication: Aid in enhancing internal communication efforts, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategy and branding.
  • General Office Duties: Perform various office tasks as needed to support the marketing team, including supply ordering and invoice management.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with marketing tools such as social media platforms and project management software.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and manage relationships with external partners.
  • A proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving and task management.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and consistency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, advertising, or a related field.
  • A passion for marketing, with a proactive approach to staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with graphic design and social media tools.
  • Spanish bilingual (written & verbal) preferred.
