Senior Regulatory Assistance Officer

Job Summary
The Senior Regulatory Assistance Officer will provide expert technical underwriting assistance and formal referral approval for the Property and Marine line of business via the H.Referral Program. This role requires a candidate with robust Inland Marine / Ocean Marine experience, but also considering Large Single Carrier expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with field underwriters on all mandatory referral cases and voluntary consultation items.
- Visit field offices to conduct in-person referrals, facilitate training, and conduct audits.
- Evaluate, conduct, and document referrals from underwriters on accounts or coverage with higher hazards, highest complexity, higher limits, or more significant premium for the Property and Marine line of business.
- Facilitate ongoing and frequent interaction with assigned offices and underwriters outside of required referral activities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Training, Systems Development, Product Management, and other functions.
- Perform a high-level quality control review to ensure proper policy structure.
- Serve in a lead capacity and act as a resource to less experienced underwriters.
Requirements
- Expert-level knowledge of all coverage forms, exclusions, pricing, structure, rating, rating plans, loss forecasting, credit risk, and market knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of insurance operations; claims, finance and actuarial concepts; regulatory environment; loss control/risk engineering; account management.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently and positively influence others.
