The University of Miami Health System is excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time Core Desk Coordinator at our Doral Clinic.

The University of Miami Health System is expanding its state-of-the-art facility in Downtown Doral, enhancing our distinguished regional network of ambulatory services. This expansion will continue to deliver exceptional academic medicine, advanced technology, and innovative treatment options to the rapidly growing Doral community. UHealth at Doral will offer services through various specialized centers, including comprehensive cancer care, eye health, and urology, alongside other specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, and dermatology. This facility will feature multiple operating rooms, procedure rooms, treatment bays, and ancillary services like imaging and laboratory support.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

- Develops and evaluates the daily schedule to optimize staff utilization and the efficiency of the operative schedule.
- Maintains effective communication with all necessary personnel and surgical services departments.
- Notifies relevant medical staff of schedule changes and additional operative cases.
- Communicates staffing requirements and scheduling modifications to supervisory personnel.
- Anticipates potential scheduling conflicts and demonstrates proactive management.
- Estimates room and time availability for schedule adjustments and additional cases.
- Documents issues related to the master schedule.
- Coordinates the delivery of specimens to the Pathology Department.
- Resolves daily discrepancies in narcotics and prepares a weekly report.
- Maintains accurate records of quality control and departmental logs.
- Participates in departmental meetings or acknowledges review of notes and minutes.
- Engages in the hospital's risk management program by reporting unusual occurrences.
- Adheres to University and departmental policies and procedures, safeguarding University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Certification and Licensing:
Registered Nurse License

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve various problems.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
