Job Title: Sous ChefJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Gecko New York. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all back of the house and kitchen operations, recruiting, training, and developing the culinary staff, and ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Recruit, train, and develop the culinary staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Ensure a welcoming and professional atmosphere in the kitchen and throughout the restaurant.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop menus, manage inventory, and control costs.
  • Ensure 100% recipe adherence and food quality.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to ensure front and back of the house employees can work together seamlessly.
Requirements:
  • Must have high volume restaurant management experience of at least 3 years.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing others.
  • A solid track record in achieving financial results.
  • Must be extremely guest-oriented with the highest degree of honesty and integrity.
  • Must have independent restaurant experience.
