In this role, you will oversee critical areas that necessitate expertise in auditing, compliance, data reporting, and social and environmental sustainability. Your responsibilities will include managing auditing, verification, and control processes, ensuring the quality of external reporting, and enhancing our transparency efforts with stakeholders and the public. Success in this position requires aligning both internal and external partners on shared processes across our global operations.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing the Cocoa Life reporting initiatives, ensuring the quality of reporting, verifying data accuracy, and collaborating with the global ESG team to maintain data integrity. Sharing insights and ensuring the quality of reporting will help us achieve our goals related to the economic well-being of farming communities, community development, and environmental sustainability. Your role will also involve:

  • Supporting the standardization of reporting and control procedures.
  • Collaborating with research partners to analyze and interpret sustainability data for reporting purposes.
  • Engaging in multi-stakeholder initiatives aimed at enhancing controls and reporting processes.
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with legal standards.

Qualifications

We seek a candidate who is eager to lead our company into the future and advance their career with expertise in:

  • Data quality, monitoring, and evaluation in agricultural supply chains, particularly in smallholder contexts.
  • Understanding the interplay between business impact, raw material sustainability, and data reporting quality.
  • Approaches related to verification, standardization, controls, and assurance.
  • Insights into agricultural supply chains from production to manufacturing.
  • Regulatory frameworks that intersect with assurance and reporting initiatives for agricultural raw materials in consumer food products.
  • Networking and negotiation capabilities.
  • Effective collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, including farmers, researchers, government officials, and business leaders.

This position supports our objectives in social development and environmental sustainability, focusing on reporting processes, quality assurance, and verification in collaboration with various stakeholders.

  • Previous experience in a private business or close collaboration with private enterprises.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of French and/or Spanish is advantageous.
  • Strong background in data quality assessments and data reporting management.
  • Extensive experience with standardization methods and standard operating procedures.
  • Proven experience with assurance and control methodologies.
  • Familiarity with developmental contexts and agricultural sustainability.
  • Experience in data analysis and interpretation is a plus, including proficiency in relevant software or programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SPSS, STATA) and geographic information systems (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • A collaborative team player comfortable in cross-cultural settings and multi-stakeholder environments.
