Job Summary:
The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all designated Control Accounts are reconciled in accordance with the required frequency and standards, making adjustments as necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise activities related to the Control Account.
  • Complete reconciliation of Control Accounts with various sub-ledgers.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end close processes, adhering to reporting deadlines, and documenting all reconciling items appropriately.
  • Oversee the accurate processing of invoices and maintain accounts receivable records in a timely manner.
  • Authorize invoices before they are issued to clients.
  • Review and approve credit notes prior to their release.
  • Manage and reconcile reimbursement processes.
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable month-end close-off for the organization.
  • Follow up on outstanding client balances.
  • Provide monthly reports on overdue amounts.
  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable control to the General Ledger at month-end.
  • Regularly update the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for accurate reporting.
  • Ensure all Balance Sheet General Ledger accounts related to Branch activities are accurately maintained for reconciliation.
  • Monitor monthly activities in the national General Ledger accounts, investigating discrepancies and making necessary Journal Entry adjustments.
  • Complete National General Ledger account reconciliations, ensuring all outstanding reconciling items are addressed.
  • Ensure prompt completion of month-end close processes and action all reconciling items.
  • Provide financial information that meets the Company's financial and legal obligations.
  • Assist the General Manager of Finance & Administration with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Utilize Budget and Forecasting tools to complete Budgets and Forecasts within the required parameters.
  • Support Sales/Price Managers in completing their budgets.
  • Establish scenarios to facilitate budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure the availability of accurate financial data to meet all internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Ensure actual income and expenditures align with budgeted figures.
  • Clearly communicate reasons for any discrepancies between budgeted and actual figures.
  • Collaborate with both national and branch management to ensure budgeted outcomes are achieved.
  • Maintain all information and reporting systems necessary for providing timely, accurate, and relevant information to the Company Accountant.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accountant.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • Experience with General Ledger functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is advantageous.
