Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks across CW Resources-owned properties. Duties include general building maintenance and upkeep. The ideal candidate should have a strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently. Experience with tools and equipment relevant to repairs and maintenance is essential, along with a good understanding of safety practices.

  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance on buildings, systems, and equipment.
  • Painting and Surface Repairs: Patch holes, sand, and paint walls, ceilings, and trim.
  • General Building Upkeep: Maintain common areas, replace batteries, change lightbulbs, and check circuit breakers.
  • Install and Assemble Furniture: Assemble furniture, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
  • Safety Inspections: Ensure that buildings and equipment meet safety standards, addressing potential hazards promptly. Schedules building inspections when due.
  • Respond to Service Requests: Address and prioritize maintenance requests from the online ticketing system. Calls to schedule service when needed eg. Elevator repair.
  • Inventory and Supplies Management: Keep track of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring they are properly stocked and maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical and Environmental Demands:
  • Lifting and Carrying: Frequently lift and carry heavy objects, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving between work sites.
  • Climbing and Balancing: Use ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment to reach elevated work areas.
  • Bending, stooping, and kneeling: Regularly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to perform tasks in confined spaces.
  • Use of Tools: Frequent use of hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Repetitive Motions: Perform repetitive tasks such as hammering, drilling, and painting.
  • Operating Machinery: Operate various types of machinery and equipment, such as drills, saws, and sanders.
  • Indoor and Outdoor Work: Work in a variety of settings, including both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
  • Exposure to Hazards: Potential exposure to electrical hazards, chemicals, dust, fumes, and loud noises.
  • Temperature Variations: Work in environments with varying temperatures, from hot and humid to cold conditions.
  • Confined Spaces: Occasionally work in tight or cramped spaces, such as attics, crawl spaces, or under buildings.
  • Heights: Perform tasks at varying heights, including on ladders, roofs, or scaffolding.
  • Noise Levels: Work in environments with potentially high noise levels, requiring the use of hearing protection.
  • Safety Gear: Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and steel-toed boots.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-year experience with general building maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of tool usage.
  • Basic computer knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite.
