Facilities and Equipment Operations Supervisor

Position Summary:
The Facilities and Equipment Supervisor is responsible for managing the maintenance strategies and operations at the manufacturing facility. This role is crucial in ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently by coordinating maintenance activities and overseeing the installation of new equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and expertise to the maintenance team, overseeing maintenance tasks and supporting staff in their duties.
- Manage the design and inspection of facilities, as well as the repair and installation of equipment.
- Facilitate training for Technicians on new production items and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Lead a team of technicians to maintain production line efficiency, address minor equipment issues, and document operational metrics.
- Oversee the Maintenance Work Order system, ensuring timely processing of maintenance requests.
- Maintain an organized inventory of parts and tools, collaborating with vendors for competitive procurement.
- Ensure that all projects and assignments are completed as directed.
- Foster communication and collaboration within the team and across the organization.
- Encourage employee development through coaching and training opportunities.
- Promote a culture of safety by conducting audits and training on safety protocols.
- Support the generation of innovative ideas within the team and ensure effective implementation.
- Monitor performance metrics and escalate needs for improvement during team meetings.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Assess and resolve issues related to systems or facilities, determining necessary repairs or installations.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree with 4 years of relevant experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, or a High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of relevant experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
- Strong communication skills for effective reporting and presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a mechanical or machining environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mills and lathes is a plus.
- Experience with maintenance management software is preferred.
- Advanced certifications in PLC programming, robotics, and electrical systems are advantageous.
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Work Environment:
- Primarily manufacturing environment with some office duties.
- Flexibility for occasional weekend hours as needed.
Skills and Attributes:
- Detail-oriented with the ability to read blueprints and follow procedures.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC and electromechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving and planning skills.
- Ability to manage employee relations and performance evaluations.
- Commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.
