Position Summary:
The Facilities and Equipment Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations and systems at the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production processes run smoothly by coordinating maintenance activities and managing the installation of new equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance and leadership to the maintenance team, overseeing all maintenance-related tasks and supporting staff as needed.
- Manage the design and inspection of facilities, as well as the repair and installation of equipment.
- Facilitate training for Technicians on new production items and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Supervise the work of technicians, ensuring production lines operate efficiently and addressing minor equipment issues.
- Document and report on maintenance performance metrics, including preventive maintenance rates and utilization times.
- Maintain the Maintenance Work Order system, generating requests for machinery and facility maintenance.
- Oversee inventory management of parts and tools, collaborating with vendors for competitive bids when necessary.
- Ensure the completion of all assigned projects and tasks by the maintenance team.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration within the team and across all organizational levels.
- Promote employee performance and development through coaching and setting measurable goals.
- Implement a safety culture by conducting audits, training on safety procedures, and leading investigations of incidents.
- Encourage idea generation across departments and ensure the best ideas are presented to management.
- Evaluate team performance and address needs through effective coaching and management.
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance, while adhering to continuous improvement standards.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and waste reduction in production activities.
- Assess and determine the necessary services for problematic systems or facilities.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree with 4 years of relevant experience in maintaining manufacturing and facilities equipment, or a High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience is required.
- Strong communication skills for effective reporting and presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical experience in a mechanical or machining environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with milling and lathe operations is preferred.
- Experience with maintenance work order software is advantageous.
- Advanced certifications in PLC programming, robotics, and electrical systems are preferred.
- A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience are preferred.
Work Environment:
- Combination of office (10%) and manufacturing (90%) environments.
- Flexibility for occasional weekend hours based on operational needs.
Skills and Attributes:
- Attention to detail and ability to read blueprints or schematics.
- Basic skills in HVAC and electromechanical equipment maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving and evaluation capabilities.
- Effective scheduling and planning skills.
- Competence in interviewing, selecting, and training employees.
- Commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $38.46
