Job Summary

The Tennessee Western District Court is seeking a highly qualified Federal Public Defender to join our team. As a Federal Public Defender, you will be responsible for providing zealous representation to criminal defendants in a federal court setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal representation to clients in federal court

• Manage and administer the office, including staff supervision and budgeting

• Possess a strong commitment to the representation of those unable to afford counsel

• Demonstrate integrity and a reputation for ethical behavior

Requirements

• Must be a member in good standing of the highest court of at least one state or the District of Columbia

• Must have a minimum of five years criminal practice experience, preferably with significant federal criminal trial experience

• Must possess the ability to effectively administer the office

• Must be a U.S. citizen or be eligible to work in the United States and receive compensation

What We Offer

The selected nominee will undergo FBI and IRS background investigations prior to appointment, including fingerprinting and compliance with financial disclosure regulations.
