Job Summary

The Tennessee Board of Regents is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Campus Safety Technician - Public Safety. As a member of the Police Services team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol campus facilities and safeguard posts as instructed
  • Provide general security presence and visible deterrent to crime
  • Report suspicious activity and/or criminal acts that may pose a threat to the community
  • Assist staff and students during emergencies and provide support as needed
  • Participate in emergency drills and training exercises
  • Investigate minor traffic crashes and issue citations for traffic and parking violations
  • Complete assigned tasks within specified timeframes and adhere to agency policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality related to consumer issues and report promptly for all Field Experience assignments and duties
  • Exhibit professional behaviors and attitudes at all times
Requirements
  • Maintain a minimum 20-hour per week work schedule
  • Be enrolled as a student at Southwest Tennessee Community College
  • Be approved for Federal Work Study
  • Pursue an Associate Degree at Southwest Tennessee Community College
  • Have completed at least 12 credit hours of college-level coursework
  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average
  • Pass a background check
