Overview:

Control Risks is a leading provider of risk management and business continuity solutions. We are seeking an experienced Business Continuity Specialist to join our team in California or NYC.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of business continuity best practices, operational risk management, and governance frameworks. They will be responsible for developing and implementing resiliency solutions, conducting business impact analysis, and creating relevant documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing, maintaining, or implementation of resiliency solutions, including business continuity plans, business impact analysis, and documentation of procedures.
  • Help plan, facilitate, observe, and debrief regular mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies.
  • Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
  • Partner with critical business functions to identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of interruptions and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
  • Contribute to establish and maintain program processes and practices which effectively ensure that the business resilience program remains current and incorporates/aligns with industry standards and practices as appropriate.
  • Prepare reports to summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Participate in support of various other initiatives and ad-hoc projects to enhance business resilience.

Requirements:

  • Preferred: bachelor's degree with operational experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of exposure in the business continuity or risk management industry.
  • Understanding of BCM governance frameworks, with strong knowledge of business continuity best practices and protocols, and operational risk management.
  • A strong understanding of operational risk and resilience, business process improvement methods as well as risk related control frameworks and practices (COSO and ISO).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially related to facilitation, documentation and reporting.

Compensation:

The base salary for this position is $85,000 per year. We offer a competitively positioned compensation and benefits package that is transparent and summarized in the full job offer.
