Job Summary

Staffworks CNY is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Setup Specialist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist Setup Specialist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating one or more of a variety of CNC Machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC Machines, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Troubleshoot CNC issues related to setup, utilizing problem-solving skills to resolve problems.
  • Conduct quality control checks using hand inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
  • Notify supervisors of any operations problems or concerns.
  • Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and orthographic drawings to ensure accurate setup and operation.

Requirements:

  • Technical, BOCES, or high school graduate with experience in blueprint reading, using measuring instruments, and manual or CNC machine center operation.
  • 3 years' experience setting up CNC Machines, preferably horizontal milling machines.
  • Ability to read prints, diagrams, and use micrometer, verniers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
