Event Service Position - Non-Tipped

Job Overview:
The Banquet Support Staff will deliver prompt and courteous service to all guests. The primary aim is to provide efficient and attentive service while surpassing customer expectations. The specific duties of this role may vary based on business needs and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and seat guests.
  • Present menus to customers.
  • Serve food to guests at designated tables, adhering to proper etiquette.
  • Make meal and beverage recommendations and respond to inquiries about food preparation.
  • Record orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen.
  • Process payments and guide customers to the cashier or manage the cash register.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and assist in clearing and resetting tables.
  • May assist in carving meats, preparing flaming dishes, and desserts.
  • May be responsible for carrying and distributing supplies and equipment.
  • May help in food preparation and proper food storage.
  • May handle billing and address customer complaints regarding food or service.
  • May operate dishwashing equipment or assist with cleaning dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware.
  • May assist with inventory management of food supplies.
  • Adhere to all safety and security policies and procedures; report incidents and unsafe conditions to management and complete required safety training.
  • Comply with all food safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training programs as designated.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant experience.
Skills:
  • Professional demeanor and a strong sense of ethics.
  • Positive attitude and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and other departments.
  • Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, vendors, supervisors, and clients.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Ability to listen attentively to customer orders and provide clear explanations of menu items.
  • Ability to give clear instructions and respond appropriately to team members.
General Qualifications:
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Sound judgment and behavior.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards in work areas and personal appearance.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is beneficial.
  • Compliance with dress code requirements.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to see clearly at various distances, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Significant mobility and ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Capability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
