Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome all visitors to the office in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Collect initial information through patient pretesting, including documenting primary concerns, gathering medical history, measuring visual acuity, assessing eye movement, interocular pressure (IOP), conducting retinal imaging, visual field tests, and optical coherence tomography (OCT).
  • Inform patients throughout the pre-screening process about the purpose of each test and provide clear instructions to ensure accurate results.
  • Meticulously record pretesting outcomes in the current electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Guide and instruct patients on the proper use and care of contact lenses.
  • Support the Optometrist during examinations as required.
  • Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that best suit their needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of prior experience in an optometric technician role is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt and multitask effectively.
  • Self-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Genuine interest in the healthcare field.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Professional appearance is essential.
