Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome all visitors to the office in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Collect initial information through patient pretests, including documenting primary concerns, obtaining medical history, measuring visual acuity, eye movement, intraocular pressure (IOP), retinal imaging, visual fields, and optical coherence tomography (OCT).
  • Inform patients throughout the pre-screening process about the purpose of each test and provide guidance to ensure accurate results.
  • Precisely and efficiently record pretest results into the current electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Instruct patients on the proper insertion, removal, and care of contact lenses.
  • Support the Optometrist during examinations as needed.
  • Assist patients in making informed choices regarding frames and lenses.
  • Collaborate with other team members as required.
Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of previous experience as an optometric technician is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt and multitask effectively.
  • Self-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Genuine interest in healthcare.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Professional appearance is essential.
