Position Summary:

We are currently in search of a meticulous and organized Air & Ocean Logistics Import/Export Specialist to enhance our operational team in Torrance, CA. This position plays a vital role in overseeing and coordinating the import and export processes for both air and ocean freight. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of freight forwarding operations, exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Documentation Oversight: Manage and oversee all essential documentation, including AES filings, Bill of Lading (BOL), load plans, and manifests, ensuring precision and adherence to regulations.
  • Operational Coordination: Organize and schedule pick-ups with carriers, guaranteeing timely and effective transportation of goods.
  • Client & Vendor Relations: Maintain consistent communication with clients and vendors to provide updates on shipment statuses, address inquiries, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Shipment Monitoring: Update and maintain accurate shipment records, tracking the progress of imports and exports to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Utilize software such as Excel, Word, and other relevant applications to generate reports, enter data, and maintain records.
  • Cargowise Application: Utilize Cargowise or similar platforms for managing logistics operations, ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with pertinent laws and regulations, including AES and SCE requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Freight Forwarding Knowledge: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a freight forwarding environment, with a solid grasp of import/export processes.
  • Documentation Proficiency: Skilled in managing load plans, manifests, Bill of Lading, and other shipping-related documents.
  • Carrier & Booking Familiarity: Knowledgeable about carriers, freight booking procedures, and the overall logistics chain.
  • Technical Competence: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and similar software, with the ability to quickly adapt to new programs.
  • Cargowise Experience: Previous experience with Cargowise or comparable logistics management software is highly preferred.
