Job Title: Team Leader

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Investigation and Reporting

We are seeking a highly skilled Team Leader to join our Materials and Crown Technology team. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for investigating factory quality problems, customer and consumer complaints using a broad range of skills and techniques. Your expertise will include performance testing, seam evaluations, coating performance tests, microscopy and metallography, plant trials, and bev/food processing simulation. You will provide reports with clear conclusions and recommendations.

Work Management and Coordination

You will manage and record work requests using appropriate IT systems, prioritizing work to ensure business needs are met and time is used effectively. You will work within the Technical Support Team to ensure all requests are dealt with and resources are allocated efficiently. You will liaise with other teams, departments, and/or external resources to ensure the root cause of a problem can be established. You will maintain proactive communication with stakeholders and regularly review work for value-added opportunities and update value-added reports.

Contribution to Materials and Crown Technology

You will contribute to the wider activities of Materials and Crown Technology, taking a proactive approach to environment, health, and safety and energy-saving initiatives. You will be involved in development and innovation teams as required and participate fully in workshops.

Essential Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a degree in science or engineering subject or several years of relevant experience in a similar technical support role. You will have demonstrated ability to work in a laboratory or manufacturing environment. You will possess excellent written communication skills, excellent interpersonal/verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage and plan multiple work requests.

We are seeking a customer-focused problem solver who is a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision but also effective as a member of a team. You will be diligent and have attention to detail, able to learn and apply new techniques quickly and effectively. You will enjoy a balance of practical work, job management, and reporting.

Preferred Requirements

Continuous improvement (e.g., 6σ) trained, experience of metal packaging technology (beverage cans or metal vacuum closures), beverage and/or food filling and processing, statistical knowledge, trained in one or more relevant investigation techniques, and strategic thinker – able to translate problems into improvement opportunities.
