Your Role at SAM:

The recruiter collaborates closely with hiring managers to fulfill staffing needs across all SAM locations, ensuring a seamless transition for service members into rewarding civilian roles.

  • Establish and nurture relationships with military installations, transition offices, veteran organizations, and other relevant entities;
  • Engage with service members approaching the end of their military tenure to discuss SAM's DOD SkillBridge Program and other career avenues;
  • Participate in military job fairs, transition workshops, and various events to connect with prospective candidates;
  • Evaluate the skills, experiences, and career aspirations of transitioning service members and veterans to identify optimal career matches at SAM;
  • Provide insights on potential career paths and salary expectations based on candidates' backgrounds, interests, and organizational needs;
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to comprehend their staffing requirements, devise targeted recruitment strategies, and present the most qualified candidates;
  • Compile reports on recruitment metrics, including placement success rates, candidate satisfaction, and retention statistics;
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with veterans and hiring managers across the organization to enhance the overall effectiveness of the military hiring initiative;
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the company's strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or a related field is required;
  • Prior military service or experience working with military personnel is highly preferred, with the ability to translate military skills into civilian job qualifications;
  • Strong understanding of military culture, structure, and the transition process;
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience;
  • Willingness to travel (typically 10-15%) and participate in off-site events and meetings;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with extensive use of MS Excel for reporting;
  • Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (we utilize iCIMS) and other recruitment tools;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing program and organizational requirements;
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Benefits:

  • Opportunity for hybrid work schedules for office positions, promoting work-life balance;
  • Company-paid premiums for medical, dental, vision, LTD, and life insurance (HSA and FSA plans available);
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, holidays, and parental leave, with accrual starting immediately;
  • 401(k) program offering 100% employer match up to 5%;
  • Paid continuing education courses and tuition reimbursement;
  • Employee Assistance Program prioritizing mental health;
  • No glass ceiling—an environment that encourages career growth (inquire about our Career Pathing);
