Position Overview:

This full-time role involves providing essential nutritional care to patients under the guidance of the Department Director. You will ensure that the dietary needs of patients are met and that all related documentation is thorough and precise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the development and evaluation of Clinical Nutrition services, including:
    • Medical Nutrition Therapy for both inpatients and outpatients
    • Collaboration on clinical nutrition-related projects
    • Assistance with system upgrades and departmental initiatives
  • Support in the selection and training of new staff as needed.
  • Contribute to the creation and adherence to:
    • Patient dietary menus and nutritional assessments
    • Relevant policies and procedures
    • Nutrition Services Performance Improvement Plan
  • Foster effective multidisciplinary relationships to enhance patient care.

Value to the Team:

You will conduct thorough nutritional assessments for patients across various facilities, tailoring interventions according to the Nutrition Care Process. This includes:

  • Identifying educational needs and barriers to learning
  • Providing individualized nutrition counseling
  • Utilizing assessment techniques that respect diverse cultural and age-specific needs
  • Evaluating patient progress and adjusting plans as necessary
  • Maintaining strong communication with team members and external partners

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Clinical Dietetics, or a related field
  • Completion of a dietetic internship
  • Registered Dietitian status upon employment or within six months
  • Licensure by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians upon employment or within one year

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nutrition
  • Experience in acute care clinical dietetics
  • ServSafe Certification
