Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Malpractice Litigation Specialist to join our team at North Bridge Staffing Group. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical malpractice cases, including reviewing medical records, drafting legal documents, and assisting in all stages of litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing medical malpractice cases from inception through trial or settlement.
  • Document Preparation: Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, medical record summaries, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Medical Records Review: Collect, organize, and review medical records to identify key information relevant to the case.
  • Discovery Support: Assist in the preparation of discovery materials, including interrogatories, document requests, and depositions.
  • Medical Expert Coordination: Communicate with medical experts to obtain opinions, reports, and deposition testimony. Schedule consultations and assist in preparing expert witnesses for trial.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain regular contact with clients, providing case updates, gathering information, and assisting in preparation for depositions and trial.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research related to medical malpractice issues, standards of care, and case law to support attorneys.
  • Trial Preparation: Organize trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, and assist with trial logistics, including attending trials when necessary.
  • Case File Maintenance: Maintain case files, including correspondence, court filings, medical records, and expert reports in both electronic and physical formats.
  • Calendar Management: Track important deadlines, court dates, depositions, and case-related appointments to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • E-Filing: File documents electronically with courts and agencies as required.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal, with at least 6 years in medical malpractice litigation.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical malpractice law, medical terminology, and litigation procedures.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal case management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and e-filing platforms. Familiarity with medical record review platforms is a plus.
  • Research Skills: Ability to conduct legal research using platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, and medical experts.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify legal and procedural issues, and assist attorneys with problem-solving throughout the litigation process.
  • Team-Oriented: Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Familiarity with trial preparation and attending trials as support staff.
  • Experience working with medical experts and conducting in-depth medical records reviews.
  • Certified Paralegal (CP) or Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) designation.
