Job Description:
As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering effective solutions to intricate challenges at General Dynamics Information Technology. Your role will involve customizing state-of-the-art solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients.

Your focus will be on enhancing the end-user experience while we prioritize your professional development.

In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring operational safety today and driving innovation for tomorrow.

In your capacity as a systems engineer, you will design, configure, and troubleshoot server, storage, and application architectures. You will also oversee the administrative operations and maintenance of server hardware and software.

You will manage Microsoft Active Directory objects, Group Policy Objects, and DNS zones/records, ensuring system security and implementing best practices. This includes monitoring usage statistics and logs, as well as addressing vulnerabilities. You will build and maintain baseline configurations and modify configuration settings as necessary.
Implement troubleshooting and incident response protocols to resolve system-related issues.

Provide leadership and mentorship to junior administrators, demonstrating a deep understanding of networking architecture for server and application design and troubleshooting.

Stay updated on advancements in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments.
Offer recommendations for future projects to management.

Provide expertise in the development, modification, and documentation of software programs and applications to enhance operating systems.


  • Education:
AA or 2+ years of equivalent experience
DOD 8570 compliant (Network+ / Security+ certified)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering
Experience with VMware vCenter/vSphere 6.7 or higher
Experience with VMware Horizon VDI Desktops and Applications
Experience with NAS/SAN storage architectures and protocols
Experience with Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022
Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
High-level networking knowledge
Ability to work at a high technical level across all phases of systems engineering activities
Excellent communication and briefing skills; effective listening and follow-through
Detail-oriented and organized; able to comprehend information systems and ensure accuracy
Provide technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers and administrators

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects and Servers
Experience with NetApp AFF/FAS Storage
Experience with F5 Load Balancers
Experience with Azure Cloud services
Experience with Rubrik Backup solutions
MCITP or equivalent preferred
ITIL v3 Foundation certification

Security Requirements:
TS/SCI Clearance Required
